One thing I really love about being in Arkansas is the Fall. It stays cool, trees turn a beautiful different colors, it is AWESOME running weather, and the freaks of Arkansas start to come out.
We were really excited about Halloween this year. It's not my favorite holiday but we got to go to afarm and get some pumpkins and gourds, make jack-o-lanterns, roast pumpkins seads, and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters!!
You might to think it's cute to see kids dressed up as pirates and pumpkins but the occastional drunk 13 year old isn't so cute. It was about 5:30 and Matt and I had just gotten home. We were both up stairs and we hear our door bell ring. We look out the window and we see some kids. We think to our selves it's a little early for trick-or-treaters but oh well. I open the door and I see four 13 year old boys dressed up as girls (when Matt looked out the window he thought they were girls). These boys had on scandalous dress with bras comming out the top and make up on. The first thing they say to me is "Dont we look good?" I was completely dumb founded for a second, and then I asked them if that's what they are suppose to say. They finally said trick-or-treat and I gave them some candy. Something was definately not right with them. Before they walked off one of the little boys told me that they had found something little inapporiate and they wanted me to throw it away for them. At this point I was thinking they were going to give me a dirty magazine or something along those lines but no, they gave me an empty bottle of liquor. I didn't even know what to say. Before I knew it he put it in my hands and walked off. I should have made him throw that away himself or made him call his mother (yeah right). Needless to say we decided not to participate in trick-or-treating for the rest of the night.
Here is our family of pumpkins and gourds...
and our jack-o-lanterns
Today we ventured to Little Rock to do some shopping. We are in the Christmas spirit because we are excited to start traditions of our very own! We bought some holiday decorations from hobby lobby at a very exciting 50% off. We now have stalkings and christmas lights for our non existant tree! YAY! Its really easy to be in the Christmas spirt all year around here in Searcy because you can drive down the street and see Christmas lights in July! That's so nice.
This is to get you into the christmas spirit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jyCfRHumHU
