Fall is finally here!!

One thing I really love about being in Arkansas is the Fall. It stays cool, trees turn a beautiful different colors, it is AWESOME running weather, and the freaks of Arkansas start to come out.
We were really excited about Halloween this year. It's not my favorite holiday but we got to go to afarm and get some pumpkins and gourds, make jack-o-lanterns, roast pumpkins seads, and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters!!

You might to think it's cute to see kids dressed up as pirates and pumpkins but the occastional drunk 13 year old isn't so cute. It was about 5:30 and Matt and I had just gotten home. We were both up stairs and we hear our door bell ring. We look out the window and we see some kids. We think to our selves it's a little early for trick-or-treaters but oh well. I open the door and I see four 13 year old boys dressed up as girls (when Matt looked out the window he thought they were girls). These boys had on scandalous dress with bras comming out the top and make up on. The first thing they say to me is "Dont we look good?" I was completely dumb founded for a second, and then I asked them if that's what they are suppose to say. They finally said trick-or-treat and I gave them some candy. Something was definately not right with them. Before they walked off one of the little boys told me that they had found something little inapporiate and they wanted me to throw it away for them. At this point I was thinking they were going to give me a dirty magazine or something along those lines but no, they gave me an empty bottle of liquor. I didn't even know what to say. Before I knew it he put it in my hands and walked off. I should have made him throw that away himself or made him call his mother (yeah right). Needless to say we decided not to participate in trick-or-treating for the rest of the night.

Today we ventured to Little Rock to do some shopping. We are in the Christmas spirit because we are excited to start traditions of our very own! We bought some holiday decorations from hobby lobby at a very exciting 50% off. We now have stalkings and christmas lights for our non existant tree! YAY! Its really easy to be in the Christmas spirt all year around here in Searcy because you can drive down the street and see Christmas lights in July! That's so nice.

Painting the Town Red

The Arkansas Williams' had a busy yet relaxing weekend. After work Tiffany and I decided to check out the fabled Little Rock River Market. So after work, we went back to downtown little rock for some fun.



We began the night by eating at the very college station-like Blue Coast Burrito (like freebird's). Then we trekked downtown to a very fun (but not as lively as Ft. Worth or Austin) area where we took pictures of each other and laughed at creepy hobo-looking dudes.



After that fun filled night, we went to sleep and decided to go on a picnic the next day. so we packed up the charcoal and chicken and went to riverside park about 3 miles from our house.

Give Me Some Chocolate!

Give me some chocolate!!

I knew it was only a matter of time before I had my first emotional breakdown. Working three different jobs PLUS going to grad school was going to get to me eventually. Bless my poor husband’s heart. He has learned that if he just holds my hand, let me have my emotional moment, and give me some chocolate I’ll be ok. Chocolate is an amazing substance. It has now been proven to reduce bad cholesterol, improve the function of the blood vessels, help prevent blood clots, reduce the risk of cancer, treat depression, and produce feelings of happiness and well being. The best part about all of that information is that I didn’t make it up! So yes….chocolate could just be the miracle drug.

Even though I had my first “school/work-related” break down, life is good (really busy but good). The volleyball season is in full swing and we are in the middle of conference play. We just got back from the wonderful town of Arkadelphia. It just so happens that in the next two weeks we will be going there two more times! It is located about half way between Little Rock and Texarkana. The town of 10,000 people oddly enough has two universities (Henderson State and Ouachita Baptist). You would think that a town with TWO universities would have another restaurant to eat at besides Wendy’s. Well…if you thought that you’re wrong.

Last weekend the William’s family came to visit us. We had a wonderful time. The boys went fishing and caught a fish. The girls and Ryan went to Little Rock and did a little bit of shopping. It was so great to have our family here. We love to have company. I am sad to say that the fam didn’t get to experience red necks first hand (the guys might have had some encounters when they went fishing… I’m not sure). Matt and I were going to take them to the redneck of all redneck places, Georgetown One Stop. Unfortunately they were closing early for some reason, maybe next time. They did get to experience Mi Ranchito; the fine authentic Mexican food of Searcy AR. I do wish we lived just a little bit close to our family so we could see them more often. Who knows where God is going to send us…..

This weekend I have a bible class, Christian Ethics in Education. It should be interesting. I love it when Harding offers bible classes on the weekend. The only time I have to go to class is that ONE weekend and my grade is based upon attendance. Ok…it’s not that good. I also have to write a TEN page paper with research. I’m getting really good at writing papers. Next weekend Matt will be in Houston attending Kelly’s wedding and I am off to Arkadelphia once again. The weekend after that we might go camping with my wonderful grandparents. They are going to Lake Texoma for the weekend and we are thinking about going up there and hanging out. I miss them.

Redneck County Fair

I decided that Matt needed to experience the white county fair last night. We had a great time! They had a petting zoo, a live stock show, a concert, and a lot of other very random things. I wish I was going to be here this weekend so we could go to the highlight of the fair; the demolition derby!! It is held in a mud pit on the fair grounds and they had some of the cars out last night for show.

So, maybe this is what the"Real World" feels like. Busy, Busy, Busy!! We have been so unbelievably busy these last two weeks. Between volleyball, teaching, taking classes, and Matt's job we get to see eachother for about three hours every night. We have just enough time to eat dinner and watch Scrubs (thats our new favorite TV show). We have been recording all the episodes that come on with our awesome DVR. I love it!! I don't even remember the last time I watched live TV.



School is going good. I am really enjoying the classes that I am taking (Research Methods, Advanced Principles of Learning, and Christian Ethics in Education). I love the fact that I only meet once a week for the classes, they are more specialized, and more interesting! I say all those things now but by the end of the semster I might be completely burned out. I am also really enjoying the classes that I'm teaching. They aren't hard classes to teach but I am having a great time. It a wonderful feelilng to be happy with what I am doing and to know we made the right decision about staying in Arkansas.

This weekend Matt and I are taking a road trip accross Arkansas and Texas. We are first going to Denton on Friday for a volleyball tournament, then driving to Amarillo for my Dad's wedding, and then back to Searcy. Whoo. It's going to be a long weekend.

August is here!

August is here! The girls on the volleyball team are now arriving, the heat index is over 100, and the anxiety of school is starting to set in. I am so excited about everything that is about to start!!
We had an action packed weekend. Friday we didn't do much, but Saturday morning we went to the river and fished. We had a great time even though we didn't know what we were doing. The only time we saw a fish was when it was on the end of someone else's pole. The spot we fished at was wonderful. The river is called the Little Red River and is located in Pangburn Arkansas (a.k.a Redneck USA). It was about a 20 minute drive and it was worth every minute. The water was about 50 degrees. We could walk out in the water about 4 or 5 feet and cast from there. It kept us cool.

Just incase you didnt know what a redneck looksw like here is this picture. You can't see it from this picture but his behind is actually hanginig out of the top of his pants and he isnt wearing shoes. Homeboy made him self at home right infront of where we were trying to fish.






Sunday afternoon we gave the disc golf course a try. It was fun but Matt kicked my butt and it was really hot.



I also got my Arkansas driver's licence with my new last name on it! The whole situation was very bitter sweet. I was very excited to have it with my new last name on it but the lady wouldn't give me back my Texas licence :(. To top it all off my hair is messed up on the side. Why wouldn't the lady just tell me that it looks like I have a bird's nest stickinig out of my head. I find that very rude.

My Husbands Birthday!!



Happy Birthday to Matt!! Today is the first time we get to celebrate Matt's Birthday as a married couple! Today I surprised Matt with pancakes in bed. He was happy as he could be at 5 in the morning. Please ignore the cleavage.




We had a romantic candle lit dinner (with our wedding candles). I made chicken and shrimp Alfredo...it was yummy. Then I made a cookies and cream kind of thing in place of a birthday cake. He liked it.

OK...so its been a while

We know...its been a while. A lot of new and exciting things have happened and there is just not enough time to blog. We will get back into it once things start settling down (which they are). A few things from the summer...

I have decided that right now my life is on pause. I've graduated and I am just sitting around waiting for Katie's wedding (which is next week!!) and waiting for my wedding. I don't have much to do except eat, sleep, workout, lay out at the pool, and plan my wedding. It's a rough life....but some one has to do it.

My shower was this weekend. It was absolutely wonderful. Lori, Kristin, and Misty (Matt's family) came into town and it was great to get to see them! Kristin and I saw the movie Knocked up. I don't recommend it...all I am going to say about it is that it made me not want to have kids for a very long time.

My Beautiful Flowergirl


Callie picked up her dress this weekend and she looked so adorable!! I can't wait for her to walk down the isle and drop a few flower petals . She is so very excited about her dress, her "bump shoes" (shoes with a little heel), and her crown. The only problem is that she would love to wear it now!! It's all in a special place in my closet right next to my dress waiting for the big day.

NEW Reception site!!!!!



It's been a while and A LOT has happened...graduation, moving into our house, wedding planning, and more wedding planning! Unfortunately I left my old camera in Arkansas so the only pictures are of our wedding reception site!




Hopefully it will be a nice night so we can have people outside!! I think that about 80% of nights in June are nice....lets pray for good weather!

Catch Up

Only FOUR days of my undergraduate college days left!





As a freshman coming in you always hear people say that four years in college will go by so fast...well they weren't kidding! It is unreal how fast time has gone by! It doesn't seem that long ago that we were first engaged and we had 10 months until our wedding. Now, we are sitting here two months from our wedding day and about to move all our stuff to Arkansas next week!!

I haven't seen the place but it's brand new and as far as I can tell from pictures on the Internet it should be great. Of course it's going t be fun....we totally bring the party where ever we go :).

One Fun Party

I had my first shower....it was a blast. I have some of the best friends in the world. They are pretty much wonderful. I don't really consider myself a shy person but I was pretty embarrassed about opening up "personal" presents in front of all those people. Here are a few pictures from the night. Cruise Info!


Back in February, I booked probably the most exciting vacation ever. Not only do I get to spend a week with Tiffany, we get to do all kinds of cool cruise things. I was slightly down today (no worries, there wasn't a real reason, just one of those days) so I went and booked an excursion for us on the Island of St. Thomas.

DETAILS of our FIRST home!!!!

It is official. We have a place to live! Matt needs to sign the lease when he comes up in May or when he comes up for a job interview (lets cross our fingers). The townhouse complex is called Parker Place.

It is in a quite neighborhood half a block from campus. It has two bedrooms and a bathroom up stairs and down stairs is the kitchen, living room, laundry room, and a half bathroom. I think this place fits us well…really simple.














They have some stuff to do to the apartment before we move. They needed to clean the carpet (they did that today), paint one of the rooms, and fix part of the floor in the entry way. The sweet old man told me that he would have it all finished by May 11. That is the day we can move some of our stuff in even though we are not officially moving in until June 8.

Things are going really good. I got all my grad school classes settled out today. I am so nervous but I will have a really smart husband to help me out!

Our Home

Well, we think we have found a place to live in Searcy. It is a 2 bedroom duplex that is apparently very "cute." This "sweet old man" is the land lord and he is going to let us move in as well as start paying rent in June, which is a big plus for us. So now that we have a place to live, only the whole no job thing is the only stress in our lives. Wish us luck with this.
Tiffany is coming into town, along with my parents for ring and parents weekend. I can't wait to see her.
On a different note, I will be giving my testamony to my bible study on Wednesday. Pray for me that I know exactly what to say, and that God will speak through me to help those that are struggling.

Registering FUN!

Matt: Tiffany, Tell me what my favorite hockey team is.
Me: I didn’t think you liked hockey.
Matt: That’s right. I don’t. Now, ask me which bed spread is my favorite.
Me: Ok, I get the point.



Without a doubt, spending a couple of hours in Bed Bath and Beyond picking out bedding is not one of Matt’s favorite things to do. He did get to use the gun…that made him happy.




He also wanted to pick out a few decorations for our new home (wherever that may be).





Needless to say we didn’t exactly have the same taste.





We did take time out of our busy wedding planning week to watch the Aggies beat Louisville.
